6th Annual Scavenger Hunt in SF!

This is an annual event
where hundreds of au pairs from around the Bay Area gather, for a fun day full of friends, sight
seeing and some friendly competition. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 28th!

Scavenger Hunt - Sunday, September 28th at 11:00AM

We begin on the steps across from the Historic Ferry Building (1 Ferry Bldg, San Francisco, CA 94111) on the waterfront,
easily reached by ferry, BART, Cal Train or personal vehicle. (10:30AM: ferry-ride from
Marin, 10:30AM: Cal Train arrival) and will end the day on the lawn
area of Ghirardelli Square
for refreshments at around 3:00PM.

Bring comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket or sweater, and a bottle of water. This will be your Au Pair Meeting for the month of September.

Parenting as a Team: For Couples (birth-6 years) Explore ways to strengthen the couple relationship, manage conflict, and develop discipline strategies that are effective for the whole family. Mondays, 9/8, 15 & 22, 7:00-9:00 PM, $150 per couple for three sessions.

The Feisty Threes and Fours (3-5 years) – Explore what makes 3’s and 4’s challenging, and learn to enhance cooperative behavior. Thursdays, 9/11, 18 & 25, 7:00-9:00 PM, $90 for three sessions. Stephanie Agnew, BA

Raising Multilingual Children (birth–6 years) - What parents need to know to foster second language acquisition. Tuesday, 9/23 7:00-9:00pm, $35. Gloria Moskowitz-Sweet, LCSW

“It’s Not Fair – You’re Ruining My Life”: Positive Discipline (1st –5th grade)
How to establish and enforce rules, and encourage responsibility while keeping communication open and respectful. The transition to Middle School will also be discussed. Tuesdays, 9/17 & 24 7:00-9:00PM. $60 for two sessions. Nancy Rosenbledt, Psy.D.

Parent/Child Activity Groups
Toddler Social Club*(16–24 months) - Art and activities for children; discussion of toddler issues for parents. Wednesdays 10/15 – 11/19 9:00-10:30AM. $120 for 6 sessions. Lori Longo, MA.

Terrific Twos – Preparing for Preschool*(2–3 years) - Discussion for parents includes temperament, social, emotional and cognitive development, discipline and more! Separate playgroup for children: a wonderful first separation experience. Session I – Mondays 10/6- 11/3 9:30-11:00AM. Session II – Mondays 11/10- 12/8 9:30-11:00AM. $150 for one session – 5 classes. $275 for both sessions – 10 classes (includes playcare for children). Music Together* (birth - 4 years) A joyful musical experience for parents or caregivers and children, with singing, dancing, and instrument play Tuesdays, 9/9- 11/18, 9:30-10:15 AM OR 10:30-11:15 AM ( No class on 9/30 & 10/14) OR Thursdays, 9/18-11/20, 3:30-4:15 PM OR 4:30-5:15 PM ( No class on 10/9). $175 for nine sessions (includes illustrated songbook and 2 CDs). Host Parent Wine Tasting

Calling all Host Parents! Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting and socializing - meet other host parents in our area at B Street & Vine in San Mateo on Sunday, October 19th at 4:00PM.

B Street & Vine is located in downtown San Mateo at 320 South B Street (between 3rd & 4th). We will be hosting a private party with food & wine on the back patio on Sunday, 10/19/08 at 4PM. Advance payment is $15 per person (Paypal - link below), at the door will be $20 per person (cash only). Feel free to invite other parents interested in our au pair program.
